Requirements for the CAD drawing service “Dimensioned floor plan for your project”

To use our CAD drawing service for dimensioned floor plans for your project In order to be able to claim, the following requirements must be met by the customer:

template

The basis for a dimensioned floor plan for your project forms a template provided by you. This can be an existing floor plan or a hand drawing.

Important: If you don't have a template at hand, hand drawings are the only way to create a template for the dimensioned floor plan for your project to create. Note that hand sketches can often lead to inquiries, delays and additional costs, especially when it comes to depicting stairs, sloping roofs or additions or modifications.

Good to know: If you don't have a floor plan, you can create a hand drawing using a series of instructions.

measures

To one dimensioned floor plan for your project To create, correct measurements are required. Enter the lengths and widths for each room. Either these dimensions are already listed in old floor plan templates or you miss them yourself using our instructions and enter the dimensions in the template.

Good to know: The more detailed the measurements are, the more precise we can make your dimensioned floor plan for your project draw. Additional dimensions of windows, doors and other components help to position them correctly.

number of rooms

Please specify exactly how many rooms are available in your property. Please note that we include seven rooms per floor plan. If your property has more than seven rooms, we will calculate the price for an additional floor plan.

Good to know: What counts as a room? All accessible rooms within an object are considered to be rooms, including kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, hallway, corridor, etc. In the case of a 3-room apartment, for example, six rooms must be specified (three rooms plus kitchen, bathroom and corridor).

components

All objects have windows and doors that we need to know where they are in the floor plan.

windows and doors (direction of opening)

Please indicate where windows and doors are located in each room. For windows in particular, we need the dimensions of width and height as well as information as to whether it is a floor-to-ceiling window. For doors, please indicate the direction in which they are opened.

Vertical components

Objects with vertical components, such as stairs, roof windows and dormers, can be challenging, especially if no old floor plans exist as a template.

stairway

The following three details are important for the staircase component:

  • Direction (e.g. from ground floor to upper floor)
  • Staircase width
  • Length of stairs

You can find detailed instructions in the PDF Measure stairs.

dormers and/or roof windows

Indicate whether they are roof windows or windows in a dormer window. For a roof window, please enter the abbreviation DFF in the template.

Room height

The room height is also an important measure, especially for basements or attics, as minimum dimensions apply here. Use our checklists to determine whether the area in your basement or attic counts as living space.
